Day 3
The day started off a little early. No monkeys this morning but a damn alarm clock. Today we did the Mega tour (zip line, water slide, horse back riding and hot springs). It was quite the adventure. Zip lining through the jungle was a amazing sensation. Zip lining upside down was...yea a little crazy! But somehow we did it! It wasn't platform to platform it was George of the Jungle style! Tree to tree! oh my god! After that we headed to the waterslide through the jungle. About a 30 second ride or so through the thick dense forest at rocket speed. 3/4 of the way up the waterslide a young couple spotted a 12 inch long snake on the slide trying to make its way upstream. At first I didnt believe her, but just in case I made Joanne go first. When she got to the bottom and pulled herself to the edge, our tour guide handed her the snake. Check out the pics. It was a tropical razor non venomous snake that can grow 1.2 metres long. Next we rode horse back through the jungle up and down steep hills. It was major scary, we thought our horses were going to slip. At the bottom, it was like shangri-la-ti-da. Unbelievable. Thick forest with waterfalls and hot pools with howler monkeys swinging overhead. We participated in the mud baths and while waiting to be hosed off, the monkeys decided to poop on us from above. Splatted poop landing only a few feet from us. We watched and it seemed like they were laughing at us. This is the coolest place. I spotted a Toucan bird, but Joanne couldnt pick it out while going down a steep hill and hanging on for dear life on her horse. Dont worry I have pics and we hope to see more of them on our river boat tour in a few days. Tonight we are exhaused so are relaxing in the lounge chatting with others about tours.. We might rent a car tomorrow and drive along the coast to Tamarindo. The roads are crazy, but they tell us safe. More adventure awaits. Internet up dates are a little hit and miss due to lots of internet down time. Bye for now. Mike and Joanne
