Day 7
Up early with the monkeys again and off on another adventure. Today we returned the car at 7:00 am and were ready in the lobby for pick up to the Palo Verde river boat tour. We drove for about 1 1/2 hours to a river where we got on a boat to tour down the river. Again it was like Jurassic Park. Thick green trees and grasses lined the shores. We spotted about 30 Crocodiles and even more Iguanas. Birds of all kinds in the trees and on the shore. We saw bright green parrots, Macaws, large bright Pink birds and many other colored birds. All making sounds that were familiar to the jungle. It was so cool. Joanne's favorite part again was when we watched the Howler Monkeys and the Cappuccino Monkeys playing in the trees. It was a Kodak moment as we watched the monkeys in the trees, a crocodile on one shore, 2 Iguanas fighting on the other shore, and 3 Macaw birds over head in other trees. The tour guide said we had struck gold as he had never seen so much wild life in one area. He has been doing the tours for 10 years and said he had never seen the Macaws in that area. He had seen them further south in Panama, but not where we were. This was again an awesome tour. After the boat ride we stopped for a typical Costa Rican lunch of rice, beans, and chicken. Of course with cervesa's. Then on our way back to the resort, we went shopping in Liberia and 2 other little villages for more souvenirs and more cervesa's. Back to the resort about 5:00 and off to the pool for a dip before dinner. We had some drinks with a couple from Saskatoon, Dorian and Diane. Nice people, we intend to keep in touch with. We went for supper with them and watched the show with them as well. Our last night, so we decided to party it up. More Pina colada's, Dirty Monkeys, and Banana Mama's and of course more cervesa's. We made it back to our room around 12:00. Another perfect day. This place is amazing......
